Nonetheless, regarding the 15 and 15 Plus models, analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong Intl Tech Research indicates that his recent findings suggest that Apple might encounter certain obstacles in acquiring the necessary camera components, which could lead to a delay in the release of these smartphones.
Specifically, Pu expresses his intention to "continuously assess the production schedule risks" related to the stacked CIS (CMOS Image Sensor) required for the 48MP camera featured in the 15 and 15 Plus models.
However, until more concrete information becomes available, Pu maintains his expectation that the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus will still be launched simultaneously with the 15 Pro and Pro Max in September, later this year.
Pu's newsletter also reconfirms that the entire iPhone 15 lineup will introduce USB-C connectivity, while the A17 chip will be exclusively reserved for the Pro models. On the other hand, the 15 and 15 Plus models will adopt the A16 chip, which debuted with the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max.
Lastly, Pu anticipates that the storage capacities for the iPhone 15 smartphones will remain unchanged, with options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. Only the Pro models will offer the highest storage capacity of 1TB.
